Light Detection and Ranging or LiDAR is a remote sensing method that is human (eye) - safe that allows surveyors to collect topographic data using laser emitting and receiving systems. This sophisticated methodology enhances field safety, increases data density collection, and efficiency across a wide variety of projects.
Most notably LiDAR is used for large scale topography when light to heavy vegetation is present. The inefficiency of field crews as compared to drones with LiDAR systems can benefit your project's budget and timeframe when needed the most.

What can you get from Lidar?
Cut through heavy canopy
LiDAR can cut through light to medium canopy densities and with extra effort and time it can push through the heaviest of canopies. LiDAR goes where photogrammetry can't, but increasing data capture capability does come with extra effort, processing and steps that the team at 26th Parallel North is trained and experienced in performing.
Capture Large Extents of Topography Data
With the capacity to capture thousands of acres per week of topographic data, the only question left is when can we start. Our pilots are FAA Part 107 Certified and commercially insured to get the work done no matter when or where.
