LiDAR Data Collection

About LiDAR Data Collection

Light Detection and Ranging, commonly known as LiDAR, is a remote sensing method that is safe for human eyes and enables surveyors to gather topographic data using advanced laser emitting and receiving systems. This innovative methodology not only enhances safety in the field but also improves data density collection and efficiency across a diverse range of projects.

LiDAR is particularly effective for large-scale topography, especially when dealing with light to heavy vegetation. The advantage of using drones equipped with LiDAR systems over traditional field crews can significantly impact your project's budget and timeline when efficiency is essential.

However, it is crucial to recognize that LiDAR is not universally applicable; therefore, a project consultation should be conducted for each specific project, as there is no one-size-fits-all solution. In an era where the industry demands both efficiency and precision, 26th Parallel North Inc. is prepared to assist you—are you ready for us?

Cut through heavy canopy

LiDAR, a powerful remote sensing method known as Light Detection and Ranging, can effectively penetrate light to medium canopy densities, and with additional effort and time, it can navigate through the heaviest of canopies. This technology goes where traditional photogrammetry can't reach. However, enhancing data capture capability requires extra effort, processing, and steps, all of which the experienced team at 26th Parallel North is well-equipped to handle, ensuring accurate topographic data is obtained.

Capture Large Extents of Topography Data

With the capacity to capture thousands of acres per week of topographic data using Light Detection and Ranging, the only question left is when can we start. Our pilots are FAA Part 107 Certified and commercially insured to get the work done no matter when or where, utilizing this advanced remote sensing method.
